I can’t believe it. The producer for Alex Sparrow’s short film just contacted me and said she wants to see more of what I have in mind for the Sparrow comic. Oh my god this is amazing

remember these, kids? they used to be so popular on deviantART way back in like 2008 and i remember i used to be so pumped about doing one, though i never really did. so, last night i even had a dream about doing one of these, so i put together some scenarios and here we are, haha! feel free to reblog or save the template for yourself if it catches your fancy!

please tag your finished meme as harteus meme so that i and others can find your artwork easily and collected. <3

I have enough poni OC’s alone to fill this out. I might do it…

I can’t quite put into words how irritating it is when people delete artists comments.

It’s disrespectful, discouraging, inconsiderate, and makes me strongly think about not posting anymore. That and you’re basically marking that post as your own, as if what the artist has to say is inconvenient for you.

It’s on the same level as googling an image of a cabbage and posting it.

You’re reducing artists’ work to a googled image of cabbage. Please stop.

Process gif for the Sparrow drawing I posted last night. For those that might be interested in such things!

The other picture of my cat that I really liked. I might retouch this one later.

One of two pictures of my cat today that I thought turned out really well. I was shooting pics for a homework assignment and decided on a whim to take some pictures of him. This and one other came out really, really nicely.

This is a protagonist for a long-term project I’ve started working on, codenamed “the Sparrow.” Why the Sparrow? The project is an urban fantasy comic story with some superhero elements. The two genres blend well and it has become a much more fleshed-out world in my head. This guy, also tentatively named “the Sparrow,” is the son of Apollo and a mortal woman. Along with four others (including a daughter of the Japanese war god Hachiman), he works to help keep people safe from monsters.
So, why “the Sparrow?” Because this character was inspired by the Russian singer/actor/composer/director Alex Sparrow.
In short, Alex Sparrow is one of the most inspiring people I’ve ever seen. He has found what he loves and he pursues it, and he seems like he really loves life and loves living. It’s very encouraging to see someone like him who is so into doing what he loves that he’s successfully made it his life. He’s in a place where I want to be, and he’s been an influence on my life because of it. So this character and this whole project are a sort of homage to Alex and a “thank you” for inspiring me to pursue my own dreams as an artist. I may never get a chance to thank him in person, but I hope this project conveys my gratitude. And hopefully he finds it appropriate!
This project started by a friend and I musing, “what if Alex Sparrow was a superhero?” Everything built from there I’ll be showing art of this guy and other parts of the “Sparrow-verse.” I intend to create a full comic out of this once I finish my degree, but for now I’m going to develop the idea. This is just a first pass at the colors and design, so things will probably change between now and launch!

I started playing Skyrim again. Finished the College of Winterhold quest line and now my dark elf is the Arch-Mage. I love the Arch-Mage robes and the dragon priest masks so that’s what he’s rocking these days. This one’s Morokei but he also has some other one that I don’t remember the name of. Ran across the guy on accident and had to kill him u_u

I’m going to start doing a weekly livestream sketch night on Google Hangouts on Air soon. Still not totally sure what day but it will last about an hour or two and I’ll take requests during the session. I’ll also put the footage on YouTube afterward so folks can see after the fact if they want.

“Ignorance of consequence because of lack of thought absolves no one”, the Judge told Horner. “Thinking that your actions were only a prank did not make them only a prank.”
I can’t really feel sorry for this kid. It sucks, it really sucks. 25 years to life when you’re 15, that’s the end of the road right there. But holy shit, this swatting fad is so not cool and people need to realize it’s not funny.

A few tips everybody should consider. I’ve experienced all those and some more. I’m not good at english but I hope you get it. Go and support some artists out there and let them draw you nice shit. Not as nice as FairyNekoDesu but still will be cool so give them a chance and you’ll be surprised.

THIIIIS.

All of these things.

Especially the deadline. If you don’t have a deadline thats way in advanced it’s not gonna get done by then. I am almost always taking on a ton of projects at once and sometimes need a break from it to: work on stuff for me, work on stuff for friends, search for jobs, be the work slave of parents, actually relax and try to relief stress, technical difficulties, researching on how to do stuff, ect.

Sometimes it’s done in a day. Sometimes it’s done literally a year later. But I always update the people I work with so they know I haven’t forgotten.

Do NOT rush your commissioner. Let them work at their pace and it will be worth it. Rushing them insures a rush job which will very likely make the quality decline.

All this is true. Also, ref sheets are the most important thing ever. I can’t stress that enough. They make the job A LOT easier (instead of having to compare 10 different pics between each other and see that everything fits, you just look at 1!!) If you plan in commissioning your character a lot, or even if its not yours (like from an anime or something) Either commission one or look for ref sheets of the show (because there are!).

Also i strongly suggest not using Instant Messaging. Information can be lost pretty easily there and it’s hard to come back to it. Use emails instead. The info stays there, and it’s easy to search for it. It’s also an excellent way to keep track of the descriptions, so if either the client or artist made a mistake, you can see the email threads and see who’s right straight away.

also pushy clients LOVE instant messaging. Pls no.
